Doing my EMT standby gig and I see billows of black smoke coming up from behind one of the houses on the property. It's not burn pile smoke so as I'm running over I call 911 and ask for Livermore Fire. I see some outbuildings and a car in flames.

It would seem that the Einstein that lives there was doing some welding and went to the main house for a beer. He left the torch burning, it fell of the bench and started the outbuilding on fire which then spread to his car and burnt both to a crisp

Left the torch running ? WTF ? I've never seen or heard of anyone actually doing that. Unless it was one of those small cylinders sold at Walmart. People think those things are as safe as Bic lighter.
