...but what ever.

is 2.44554455445544554455445544554455......... a rational number or a irational mumber?

1/3 is rational becuase it repeats .33333333. but if there is a combination like 4455 or 437437234234437437234234 etc is it still rational?


oh ya and if someone cares to add something interesting about numbers please go ahead :eek:

Both of them are Rational numbers if you are talking about the R group of numbers. The is no such thing as irrational numbers.

You got Rational, Integers, Normals and Imaginary numbers but not irrational.

Oh and you got irrational mathematicians...like me :D

The only problem I see with your answer is that you decided to provide 5 significant digits to the answere. Are you unsure what the value woule be past the thousandths digit? It would be customary to provide an answer with the same amount of significant digits as provided in the question so as not to provide too much or not enough accuracy in your answer. I would have said fifty four.

i have a reason for writing 54.000. RM does not allow postes under 5 charaters. :monkey:
