Does anybody run a fender on a '04 Turner DHR? If so, what and where did you find it? It's wet in Cali right now and the shock cakes up with muck pretty easily.

Anyhow, I did a search and couldn't find anything so ideas are appreciated, too.

I dont know exactly what a 04 looks like by the linkage, but i just zip tied a front fender part to the swingarm on my 02, works a charm for shielding the shock, not so good at shielding the butt tho ;)

good op to show off my custom made THE shock fender...

and NO e speculators.... it doesn t contact the tire....
Not bad, I need a fender for the same reason but I don't want to shell out the cash for a THE fender. I'm thinking of scrounging up some black plastic and making one.... we'll see.

I'd save my $$.

YOu can make a pretty good one using a stiff palstic, or if you have a THE from the front of a bike they make great fenders fo the DHR.

I drilled 2 holes on each side so i could zip tie it to the upper yoke. It worked great and cost me nothing. I also made one out of a 3 ring notebook as well and that worked great too. The bend of the inside of the yoke was enough to give some stiffness to the piece. It never was a problem hitting my frame either. I dont have a pic of it on my bike, but its pretty easy to imagine where it needs to be zip tied... If not i can dig up a frame pic and point to it.....

I did the same thing Oly did with an old THE front fender. It worked well but I was a bit too overzelous with my cutting and left it too weak. It broke shortly after installing it.

Chris Wyatt jsut took the front of a THE fender and drilled a little hole in the swingarm yoke and screwed it down on the yoke. I like Oly's Idea better though...no holes is best.
Personally I've ran Turner's for 3 years in a row with no sort of fender and mud's never caused me to lose a shock yet. If it does, I'm tossing the shock in the trash
