Rear Hub choice?

RaID

Turbo Monkey
I need a new rear hub, dont really know what i should get
(the usual question)

this is what i need
135mm spacing, 36 hole, QR but convertible to through axle in the future, Disc Compatible, fully serviceable
(i assume most hubs are shimano cassette compatible)

it will be used abused a bit by riding DH and Freeriding,

at the moment ive been lookin at the Hope Bulb
or Hugi FR
any issues with these hubs? reliability?

any other hubs i should be looking in this price bracket? max $200US

cheers

Bulb is a great hub for the money. Solid freehub, ggod bearings, lightweight, easy rebuild, and good company. My only issue is that in 12mm mode the endcap is not press fit... it's more like a spacer that also goes on the axle.

But in QR mode it's fantastic.

IMO, hadley are the nicest convertable hubs out there, but definitely pricier.

My woodman is great, cheap and as strong as many hubs that are more than twice the price!
i just built up a woodman 12mm rear for my HT and after 1 week the bearings are already falling apart, and the freehub engagement is messed up, im very disappointed :(

I have had pretty good luck with my extreme, wonder if it was one of those rare type of things or a common problem, I haven't of many people having problems with them. Have you talked with woodman about it? I haven't heard anything about thier customer service.
