Hello all,

I'm embarking on a 'just for fun' project in which I'm upgrading an old MTB bike that I've had for nearly 16 years.

This bike currently has a brand of rear hub that I cannot find any information about; 'Sovos'. What I can tell you all is that the O.L.D. in the rear is ~120mm. I have to say ~120mm because the fork ends are just slightly warped. We tried getting a 126mm freehub to fit into it, but that was nothing doing. I havent yet purchased a new rim/wheel for this project as of yet.

I'm looking for anyone with information on where to purchase a decent MTB rear hub with 120mm spacing. I'm open to used parts, as long as they arent on their last leg and would like to purchase a new hub if possible, but something that doesnt cost more than the old gal is worth. The freewheel (I think that's what it is anyhow) hub is currently a 6 speed, and I would like to at least stick with a 6 speed hub.

Thanks a lot for any feedback you all can provide!

Wow, that is old. I have an old hub sitting at home that I'll measure for you. Sovos is just some no-name brand, nothing special as far as I know. If all else fails, you can take a wider spaced hub and remove some axle hardware. O.L.D. is hardly a concrete thing when dealing with loose ball hubs.
