What would be the effect of using a 7.875 x 2.0 shock on a frame that calls for 7.875 x 2.25? The frame in question is an 02 BigHit Comp.

Thanks for info.

I was just thinking of this, tell me if it sounds correct:

My travel is 6.3".
I divided that by 2.25, what my frame specs for shock stroke.
Came up w/ a ratio of 2.8.
Mutiplyed 2.8 by .25, the difference between 2.0 and 2.25.
Came up w/ .70
So I would lose .7" of travel

Am I thinking correctly?

If you fit the 2 stroke sizes agains the leverage ratio, you can figure out the travel.

IE a 3:1 ratio and a 3" stroke shock. rear end will have nine or so.

That's correct if the travel is linear and the rate does not change. Probably would be just about correct, though
