I'm have a XC bike with a Fox Float and love it. But I found a deal on a 6" FS frame but it has a Manitou Swinger. I have no experience with Manitou suspension. I searched through pages of threads, but cant find the info I'm looking for. Whats the deal with the company and how is their quality?

You shouldn't have issues with build quality, although the shock air valves can be tricky. They're decent shocks for a bike that you're going to pedal on, the platform definitely works as advertised to reduce bob, but they're not regarded as the best dh/fr shocks. Mostly because of poor small bump compliance touchy rebound adjustment but also because they're not the newest and bestest.

There are only 2 Opinions about these Dampers.

You love them or you hate them, google about SPV (stable plattform valve),
it is the shocks defining feature.

My experience:
Had a swinger 6 way once, loved the way it managed the travel without blowing through, small bump absorbation was not great but satisfying.

overall - great shock.

This sums it up nicely. Definitely not a dh/fr shock, but for xc/trail use I've liked my Manitou Swinger over just about anything else.
