Here’s my problem I 6'-3” 265# and I have a giant DH team with a Romic and a 500x3 spring and blew out my nitrogen seal this weekend and the shock is only a month old. Romic suggested contacting Avalanche to get a heavier spring. Avalanche has a 650 x 2.75 Ti spring that will work. Or should I get an Avalanche rear suspension system for the Bike?

I m also building a 2003 V10 with a 5th element and the heaviest spring I can get for that is 550x3. Can I tune this shock for my weight?

Anyone a suspension guru that can shed some light on this for me !

Aren't there a few outfits that make aftermarket springs? I think Push does. He may have better luck there.

You can get a larger spring from Avalanche, and you can also look into a Avalance shock too which are great shocks. Unfortunatly Romic has has produced several bad shocks within the last year or so, however I'm sure Romic can make it right though.

Just how soft was the 500#? Going to the 650 sounds extreme. I would try the 550# first.

Im sorry it was a 550x30 not a 500#

Yeah, but I know people who weigh 165 and run a 450 spring on a 3 inch shock.
Either way, that is going to be too light of a spring for you.
