I need some help with my Reba I just got.

A) what year is it? It says Reba race on it, is a 29er fork, and is 9mm axle. Has rebound, compression (gate), air spring, and lockout.

B) The lockout feature does not work. I can turn it, but nothing changes. I cannot turn the "gate" knob in the middle, which I assume adjusts compression. I found a user manual to remove the damper, but what would cause the inner knob to become fixed, and the outer to not do anything? I'm considering sending it to push or something, but I'd rather not, as I'd really like to get a 20mil eventually, so a cheap repair is best.

i know what REBA stands for: Rebuild, Explode, Build Again

actually if its a dual air, its the same rebuild as my revelation (according to HAB). i'm 50/50 on platty this weekend, but if we both make it there, bring it and i'll show you how to rebuild it. its super easy.

sorry bro brah, I'm going up to mankeyfest. Want to get back to platty, but it'll probably be the weekend of the 22nd. I also sold my DH bike, so I'll have to bogart the super 8.

yeah sure, send it over.

wankerfest actually tends to be a lot more fun than stonerfest. but the riding at platty and KT are both nice.

tis true. leave friday, ride in the evening, on saturday, take the lift on sunday, then head back on monday. long weekend makes for a "worth it" drive. KT are amazing and burke mountain rivals anything highland has.

Ha, the fork works a lot better with oil in it.

Finally got some snap ring pliers and got inside. Somebody must have forgot step 12.

they're pretty easy to service. it takes me about 20-30 minutes to do my revelation. I have noticed that it loses some oil over time. Maybe that just means i should replace the o-rings lol.

yeah this one appeared to have NO oil in it. It looked clean inside and the o-rings appeared to be in good shape, but outside of a tiny bit of lubcricating film, it was empty. I inverted it and tried pumping it a few times to see if it had drained into the lowers, but it doesn't appear so. My rebound works and so does the compression lock, but i'm not sure if the compression adjuster/floodgate really does anything. oh well. it weighs half a pound more too. The air side seems fine.

yea, RS could save a good amount of weight on their forks if they switched to cartridge stlye damping units. They may have on the newer stuff, idk.
