one thing's for sure: this is not a vast right wing conspiracy. They'd love to see Dean get nominated. It would be a Wm J bryan, or mcgovern, or mondale all over again.

Dean apologized for the remark on Nov. 5, saying, "I deeply regret the pain that I may have caused" people who were offended by it.
besides, dean is his own worst enemy. He can't even apologise right. (may have caused? how does that own the foible?)

College students these days must be really thin skinned if they were offended by a confederate flag on the advertisement...

Duh. ALL college students are thin-skinned. Nature of the beast.

In general, the Dartmouth Review has the highest quality of writing of any of the student publications in Hanover, but they are a petty, whiny group that thinks they're the center of the world (just like every other college-age organization).
