When I turn the rebound adjuster to the rabbit all that happens is that the screw unscrews and the thread begins to show? I have not unscrewed so far as to come out of the fork........... but surely this cannot be right?
Look beyond the bolt. See down inside......there you will find the answer. Ahhhh yes, Daniel-San, find the 3mm and adjust. Do not release the shafts by backing out the bolt.
Be the ball, Danny. Read the manual. PDF shouldn't be an issue if you've gotten this far. Frodo...your quest has reached Mordor.

don't expect much to happen when you do adjust the rebound, those damping systems never worked, its all about changing your oil weight
the 04 is the best of the bunch but still a joke compared to a zoke's damping system
( and i've owned several boxxers including an 04)

I disagree. Mine has been fine, and the range of adjustments is more than enough (who wants to run it full slow anyway? I don't run it anywhere near the stopper).
You have to use a 2.5mm I believe, not a 3mm... I had the same problem. Sounds like you're currently using a 5mm tho! Do not use a 5mm!

ya you need to use a smaller Hex wrench - if you're using a 5mm one you're literally taking the fork apart!!
I'm with thaflyinfatman - my rebound adjuster always worked on my Boxxers. Changes might not be as significant as with other forks (like 888's) but it definitely speeds or slow down your rebound.

even the 2000 through 2002's, they were by far the worse
don't get me wrong i never once said i didn't like the fork, i rode a boxxer for 4 consecutive seasons and enjoyed, just didn't ever get much out of the adjustment until 04 and even then it wasn't comparable to 888's

Well, running 5wt oil in mine I get more than enough adjustment in either direction. I don't know anyone who runs it full fast (can you say POGO?), and I can't see why you'd want it to run it full slow, let alone any slower still. Depends what ya like I suppose.
