Rebuilding a Marzocchi damping cartridge?

The Marzocchi HSCV cartridges... can they be rebuilt?
Why I ask, a friend I ride with was talking about his blown Shiver, and that there are no replacement cartridges available. An idea sprung up, that maybe the cartridge could be disassembled, and restacked by a motorbike suspension specialist. Would this sort of thing be possible, and would it be worthwhile?

there are replacement cartridges available, they cost about 130US, you can not rebuild a shiver cartridge.

better? after having glide rings break in stratos cartridges, I wouldn't call them "better", nor was my S8 any better damped than my shiver. Both are good forks, the shiver is better in every way though, but not by much in some areas.

While the inertia valve looks intriguing, the first priority for a fork like the shiver is good damping performance.

Correct me if I'm mistaken here, but I think he was referring to the new Stratos ID cartridges, which are different from the cartridges that come in an S8 (although they apaprently make ID cartridges for the S8). Sure, they'd be different, but for racing where pedaling is important, they may be worth a look.

Anyone know if they're still offering the 25% off deal for forks they haven't developed cartridges for yet? I may consider doing that with mine, depending on the turnaround time (considering it is prime time for good riding). Still, $187.50 is still a lot to pay to upgrade a perfectly good '03 Super T.
