Just rented Running Scared last night, it was pretty good. very different than most films out these days
Nice. I really liked that flick, pretty damn entertaining. I put it on at like 1:30 AM thinking I'd watch a minute or so and watched the whole thing.

On a different note I saw An Inconvenient Truth 2 days ago and it was pretty good. I was surprised at what a good public speaker Gore is compared to how the media portrays him. The message was good, although he didn't give enough solutions for it IMO.

Just got back from Devil Wears Prada. I love Meryl Streep but they didn't take this far enough. Her "evil" personal had way too much humanity. So this one gets an "ok but not even close to great" from me. It was worth the $7 just too sit in the AC for a few hours and be entertained as it's 100 here.

This one's a "wait for the DVD".

But sitting through 15 minutes of fricking tv and product ads in the movie theatre....:mumble: :mumble: :mumble: No wonder I rent so many DVDs.

i don't get it.... i thought X-3 was awesome.

Just got back from Stupidman, and it bored me to tears. That movie sucked as bad as the Hulk. Absolutely boring i'd rather watch the original on tv with commercials.

The bunker at parliament
I've recently seen "Machuca" beautifully shot and not a happy ending kinda movie, I liked it. :)
Heres the blurb about it.......

Set against the political backdrop of Allende's Chile in 1973, Machuca is the story of friendship between two boys from opposite sides of the tracks. Gonzalo is thie timid son of an inattentive businessman and a devoted philandering mother. When the priest at his exclusive Catholic school decides to bring in less fortunate children free, Gonzalo becomes friends with Pedro Machuca, one of the slum kids. His parents barely notice the scruffy boy from shantytown.

Gonzalo becomes smitten with Machca's flirty cousin Silvana, a firey rebel who has dropped out of school to sell flags at the increasingly frequent political rallies on the streets. As the political climate heats up, it becomes increasingly clear that the boys friendship is as doomed as the idea of a socialist democracy in the Chile of 1973.

since my A/V amp was dead for 3 months, it's been a long time since i watched any DVDs. but i'll fire up the netflix queue now that it's back.

on a different forum there was a thread about disturbing movies...just curious if anyone has seen any of the following:

the isle
the war zone
Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma
visitor q (here's a netflix comment: "Don't be deceived by my 3-Star Rating. It's hard to even give this movie a Star Rating, because I neither like or dislike this movie. In fact, after watching it....I'm not really sure HOW I feel right now. A part of me wants to bleach my eyeballs and suck out my memories with a vacuum. But another part wants me to distribute this film to each and every person I know....just so I can get their reaction")

anyone?

i have a feeling that if i do rent these, i'll be watching by myself.
