What are your experiences/opinions with either aftermarket or OEM brake pads for the Avid disc brakes? Now that we have discs in the family, I need to stock some spares. I've seen Avid's pads, and also compatible items from KoolStop and EBC(?).

I haven't been too happy with the koolstops or ebc pads for hayes. Both have chipped off rediculously. Unfortunately I don't know which ebc pads they were, I think the semi-metallic ones.

I had some EBC pads in my XT disc and they worked pretty well. I'm pretty sure they were like the medium friction ones. They lasted just as long as the stock XT ones but they had a lot more grab on the rotor than the stockers did.
