How is it that there are a bunch of threads on this forum about Enduro (tm) bikes etc, and nobody has mentioned the most awesome Downhill & Freeride event evar which just went down? Should we just change the name of the forum already? Monkeys I am disappoint!

Anyway, damn that was sick. And Bernard Kerr is the real deal. Some links:

That course is proper terrifying. I didn't see it, but apparently the live feed showed someone snapping their frame.

Bernard Kerr is killing it lately.

Just watched it.
The course is big and brutal.

I have only one request.
Please, Please, Please - use this type of camera setup for the WC / WC.
It is awesome to see coverage of so much of the track; as well, some areas from multiple angles.

Not sure if even my best riding in my dreams would be enough...

Watched the replay this weekend, and I think the event is getting better. They need more international invitees, still.

Agree on all counts, although regarding the cameras, I had read somewhere they were able to have a lot more because it was essentially their event (i.e. they could put them anywhere they damned well pleased) and they had a pretty long time to set up in advance. Sounds like UCI events make all that pretty difficult, which if true, would surprise absolutely no one.

I will also add they highlighted one of the few things a Jeep is useful for - providing a sense of scale!

If the Athertons were more liked by the rest of the field maybe they'd get a bigger list of riders...

On a more logistical side of things, none of the FMB riders they want to attend are going to if Hardline is so close to Rampage. Just my 2cents

I doubt "the field" is massively butthurt about Gee frowning on a podium like the Internet seems to be...

Was trying for the witty comment.
If Dan is more like Rach, does that balance out Gee's grumpyness - thereby presenting the Atherton presence as neutral overall.....ah fuck it ...

Nevermind ( spoken in your best Gilda Radner )

Just the impression that I get - part of the ethos of Hardline seems to be, more relaxed than a WC, but with a course that includes bigger features than the typical race.

Since there's seems to be a big split between the Athertons and a lot of other racers (Bryceland pissing on Gees bike, wasn't that a story?) I can't imagine it's a big draw for many of 'the field' (my apologies for use of such a cringe inducing term)
