talked to tony on saturday at the site; as far as helping goes, he said just show up saturday mornings 9 - 12 for crew (any weather conditions but whiteout). most of the engineering for the phase is done, now it's just fine-tuning. on the outside chance you have a table saw, that might be helpful to bring it. not sure how they rig up the power, and i've never heard of a cordless table saw...hmmm...
it's not officially open, but there is "product testing" to be done, so don't leave the steed @ home. it all feels solid, and looks like it'll be there for years. none of this low-to-no maintenance pirate hush-hush we're all used to.
currently, there's a wood post fence around the area, but eventually will be made into a rock wall, which'll appease the liability issue of keeping out wandering hikers, and offer a wall ride, too.
this is all privately funded (meaning nickel-and-dime), so any help we can offer is much appreciated. oh, if your company has deep pockets & wants to score some PR points, see if they'll sponsor parts of this. can't hurt to ask.
above all, get on the med wheel mailing list to keep up-to-date & find out how you can help. a few hours makes a huge difference.
