I know there have been several discussions here regarding their use (or lack thereof in this case), but has anyone decided to pick one up in the interim? I break hydrometers with shocking frequency, to the point where I buy them 2 at a time, and its just getting dumb to keep buying them. A cursory browsing of Amazon shows an amazing variety of refractometers for much cheaper than I remember seeing them in the past. I think it may be time to pick one up.

that being said, i've broken 2 in the last 4 months. the second one wound up broken before i even had a chance to use it.

Lemme tell you though, they are AWESOME. So easy to use, SO much more precise.
