For the 2nd consecutive year, DVO Suspension and Bootleg Canyon Gravity Racing have joined forces to bring you the DVO Winter Gravity Series at Bootleg Canyon in Boulder City, Nevada. The first event of the series will be on January 13th-15th, 2017 and award USA Cycling State Champions in Downhill, Super D and Dual Slalom. The prestigious State Champ medals and titles will be won by the top three in each category/age bracket, all the way from top USA pros to the 11-12-year-olds in both genders. Downhill winners in 2016 saw KHS factory racer, Logan Bingelli take the top spot for pro men, while USA Cycling’s, Samantha Kingshill, racing for College Cyclery, took her first of many wins in 2016.

Last year’s pro winners for the Super D were Utah’s Nik Dru, racing for Cannondale, and Samantha Kingshill, racing for College Cyclery. The Dual Slalom saw Chris Canfield, riding for Canfield Bros Factory Racing, and DVO racer, Christine Eikmeier, take the first place pro medals. All winners are still State Champs until this event awards the new champions. In addition to the medals, titles, and bragging rights, pros will win cash and amateurs will win prizes. For 2017 the cash and prizes total over $20,000.00 for the DVO Winter Gravity Series.

Events will start on Friday with shuttles and open practice for all disciplines. These Bootleg events always allow for plenty of open practice, course walks and traditionally end with the Open Chainless DH. For those showing up early to the events, Jack’s Place in downtown Boulder City will host the official Welcoming Party each Thursday before Friday's festivities kick off. Each Saturday during each event, the nighttime action moves to the host hotel: The Hoover Dam Lodge for the Racer Participation parties. Expect drink/food specials, live music and lots of gravity mountain bikers enjoying sharing the day’s stories.

Every event will have different Downhill and Super D race courses. There has even been rumors of a nighttime Dual Slalom race for the finals in March. The other events in the series will be the DVO Mob n Mojave on February 10-12 and the DVO Reaper Madness on March 24-26, 2017. Trucker Co will be providing racer support at each event including sponsoring the Junior Experts by offering $100 cash to the fastest Jr Expert in DH at each of the three events. Ian Cook, of Elements of Exposure, will be providing event coverage for all three events with pictures, results and a full write up for Pinkbike, on each Monday following the events.

Prices are currently at their lowest and will increase on December 14 and again after January 10. Signing up early can save you up to $50.00 and includes a free event t-shirt for the first 50. Registration and event details can be found on the official website for the 2017 DVO Winter Gravity Series. Bootleg Canyon Home
