I ordered online using the slick website. Get to the window and they have no idea I ordered. Reorder, now I wait. Got an email asking how my order went, this should be good.

Eugene area? Good riding scene, big enough town to have some decent art/culture/food/schools/etc.

Grew up just south of there, was in Eugene proper until moving eastward in 2000.

And that's what gets me, no vert without mountains :(
to revisit Watz's suggestion of Switzerland, would any of the European mountain areas have a better combination of humidity while still having vert (and still allowing you all to live and work there)?

it still bottles the mind that anybody would seek out humidity. I get the medical condition, but as sweat ran down my face this morning before I even started my ride, I came to think: WTF?

Again, I know you need to do this for medical reasons and that makes sense.

Purely medical.

I do not miss east coast humidity and bugs.

@Toshi Yurp wouldn't work for work for either of us.

IDK, sitting in the cool morning near the coast is pretty nice. Even in the heat dome it was cooling down in the evening night and morning near Seattle this past week. Yesterday morning in the Darrington campground (the one with trees) was bliss. A marine layer had pushed in too and was covering the coast till about 12:30.

If you want to moderate the temp, you need to be closer to the water. WA has this.

Ever gone for a ride on a hot dry day?

First hour all sweat evaporates, then it gets a little warmer and that first bead of sweat takes with it an hours worth of concentrated salt and crap and proceeds to burn your eyes like battery acid.

Having a water bottle handily takes care of it, but ya got to complain about something.

Strong likelihood of hard drugs in Michigan.

Hopefully some travel to other areas after living in flatsville for a while will allow a more interesting future locale.

y u no brevard/ashevegas? year round riding and some verts?!?! and brevard is technically a rain forest, so humid?

i mean, i wouldn't encourage someone like that @SkaredShtles guy to come east but you seem pretty ok... :D
Maybe Brevard as the future step.

Right now there's "family". Otherwise I'd move in with @Changleen. Although he's Welly and that wasn't my favourite spot in NZ :p

Petoskey Michigan. Pretty much anywhere in Emmit County. Trail side Peaches. Good terrain. Skyline trail to Joy valley is very poachable. Or Yakima.
