Is there any way to take anodizing off of aluminum? I have some parts that would look much better in a polished form.

Yes it does. Be carefull, leave it on too long and it starts to pit.
yeah, use easy-off (it's lye i think). Spray it down and wait like 3-5min, wash it off. Re-apply as many times as necessary (I did three applications to take the black anno off a seatpost).
Do it in a well-ventilated area, that **** will BURN your lungs (I speak from experience). Also wear gloves, it turns your skin black.
