I´m building a new bike and I installed the headset, but I lost the crown race. So I took the crown race from another fork. After installing the fork and being ready to ride I noticed that there was still a little bit play on the steerer.
Is this because the crown race is not the original from the headset?
So is it that each headset has his own crown race?
If not, what could it be, maybe it isn´t seated correctly?

Yep, every headset manufacture has their own race. So you need to get one from the manufacture that makes your headset:)

most fork races are compatable, some however, have odd bearing sizes. I would go to your local shop and pick up a spare race for less then five dollars. Also make sure that headset is tight before you cinch down the stem bolts
