What exactly does this involve? Just some channel locks and a rag? Or what? I want to flip my shock around on my bike, but the bushings are different widths, so I need to swap them. How exactly would I go about doing this?

sounds like you are asking about eyelet adaptors, and not bushings, the bushings are inside the eyelet and just set up like a regular bushing. The eyelet adaptors are structural peices to adapt a shock to a certain frame.

They come out with vice grips and a rag pretty easily, sometimes come out by hand.

Bingo! That's what I meant. So they just pull straight off, and the bushing is the actual cylinder that runs thru the eyelet of the shock?
