Hey there guys, well I ordered some replacement parts from balle racing as Erik over there is a helpfull guy. I have read the instructions on doing this and just want to make sure this all sounds right.

I am going to give the grace of having new pads and that is why my lever feel is different then before with half worn down pads. I am wondering if this sounds ok to change the seals and pistons.

1. Pump the lever with no pads in etc.. and let both pistons pop out.
2. Remove the banjo fitting
3. Remove the 2 bolts that hold each caliper together
4. Clean everything with alchy
5. Lube up the square bore o-ring with brake fluid
6. Lube the transfer port o-ring
7. Put all pieces back together (Torque to right specs)
8. Place banjo back into caliper
9. Bleed system

Does that sound about right? I am guessing this should take like half an hour or so. I don't have an air compressor at home so I was trying to find out a better way (cheaper way) to do this. Let me know if this sounds right.

Sounds OK to me. I've done it a bunch of times. I used an air compressor to pop the pads out. I did it that way so I could drain the fluid first and make less of a mess. I took everything apart before doing this. While your at it, I would wrap all the threaded bits with teflon plumbers tape. Especially the bleed nut. If the tape on the nut is worne, then air can get in while bleeding making you life miserable.

You needn't remove the banjo or the hose for that matter. I could only get one piston out with air. The other I muscled out with a vice grip on the pad pin. If your replacing the pistons who cares what happens to them right? You do want to becareful not to pull the pistons out at an angle as that could damage the bore.

So I can leave the banjo on and everything, and just undo the 2 screws that hold it together?

And from that point I can get the pistons out, change the transfer port 0 ring and the piston's and seals, and then just bleed the bejesus out of the system? Am I gettin g this correct?

I got a new rotor and some new pads off ebay. They were a killer deal.

Semi metallic pads were $10 per pair, I got 2 pairs for $25 shipped brand new

I needed another 6" rotor, was $18 for rotor, $24 shipped, brand new in hayes package.

I got all the other replacement parts from Balleracing for the stupid caliper. I am waiting for my ultimate bike stand to come before really wrenching crazy on it.

Thanks for the help guys,
Chris
