Scoping out a used Vanilla. Steerer is long enough for now, but, mm. want to be careful.

I know 'zocchi steerers are replaceable. How about a Vanilla? Can it be done? Anyone had it done? How much did it cost/how long did it take?

Graci.

Fox will send you a steerer, crown, stanction assembly. I think the price is around $75 and if you want them to do the work an additional $40. Let me know how long of one you need. I have one sitting around, because I ran into the same problem.

Thanks. I'm just speculating right now -- you know. A used fork isn't worth much if you can't replace a too-short steerer.

Did you do the work or have fox do it? I wouldn't think it would be much harder than an overhaul, but what do I know?

I did it myself so it had to be pretty easy.

If you have changed the oil before then you can do it. Nothing to it.

It costs a little more than just a steerer from Marzchocci, which is probably around $30, but for what you get it isn't a bad price. If you don't own the fork though then that really depends on the deal your getting. I already owned the fork and it was worth it to me to spend the $75 to fix it.
