Yarr!

The Pirate Party of the United States is this country's version of the Piratpartiet, a Swedish political party that wants to "fundamentally reform copyright law, get rid of the patent system, and ensure that citizens' rights to privacy are respected." As a fraternal party, the PPUS shares similar goals while working within the political context of U.S. to achieve them.

Can I book a place at the convention now? Just in case it gets oversubscribed.

That wouldn't be very pirate like now would it. The LPFC political pirate party will just take over someone else's convention. I would recommend the Libertarians, I bet they have the best party favors.

Yaarg, prepare to be boarded.

There was a young pirate named Yates
Who did the fandango on skates
A slip on his cutlass
Rendered him nutless
And practically useless on dates.

a follow up to vb...

a pirate walks into a bar and swaggers up to the tap. the bar tend takes one look at him and notices a ship's steering wheel hanging out of this pirate's pants, so he says "hey, you know you got a wheel hanging out of your zipper?" the pirate looks at him and replies "yarr, it drives me nuts"

and of course, http://www.fidius.org/quiz/pirate/

A pirate's life isn't easy; it takes a tough person. That's okay with you, though, since you a tough person. Even though you're not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate. Arr!

Passion is a big part of your life, which makes sense for a pirate. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!

Slightly more seriously, take a look at this:

Very interesting and logical point of view.

Q:The Pirate Bay was shut down and re-opened days later on a Dutch server. According to a Swedish newspaper report, traffic has doubled since then. How long do you think the cat and mouse game will continue?

Until one of two things happen: The authorities realize they can't enforce laws that require monitoring all private communications, especially given the large international level of grassroots support, or [they] actually start monitoring all private communications.
