I am sitting here with watery eyes after hearing the Cal Fire CZU radio broadcast to lower all stations flags to Half Staff to Honor Retired Fire Captain George Johnson.

George was one of my Captains and mentors in the Fire Service. I owe a lot of who I am today to his guidance and leadership. He was that calm cool voice of reason that could keep you calm and focused on your job when all hell was breaking out around you. he had that look in his eye that told you to follow his orders exactly because it was really serious yet you would get through this ok.

He died from pancreatic cancer, most likely from chemical exposures from 30 years in the fire service, he only made it 5 years into retirement

Via Con Dios Captain and thank you

Sorry for your loss. You should hang out with your Pup. They are very understanding in situations like this.....
