Believe it or not, before I even opened this thread I said "thumbshifters." Can't believe it took a major manufacturer so long to do this. I remember an MTBR post at least 3 years ago where a guy made his own and it was a very clean installation.
you can adjust slack on the thumb shifter it allows you to "trim" gears if anything is rubbing, so basically they dont go out of "adjustment" from the shifter standpoint...I think they are pretty killer for applications where you CAN NOT afford to slip a gear...
Yeah but the mounts is a one time deal then you just have to buy the shifters when you need new one. Plus, it is really nice to be able to trim the front derailleur.
