Attention adrenaline junkies! A bunch of "kewl kids" from NY's Capital Region will be returning to Kingdom Trails in NE Vermont next weekend (10/20-10/22), including myself and fellow Monkey Tequila Doug.

While the lodge we're staying at is full, if anyone out there is interested in camping/renting a room in the nearby vicinity and hooking up with our group of 15 friendly MTBrs who love the trails and know how to have a good time, you'd be more welcome to join in the reindeer games. I don't know if anyone from the last Monkeyfest would be able to make it down again so soon (Treesaw & Earl? Tig?), but biking, eating, drinking and talking bike with you all was sooo much fun...One of the the best bike trips I've taken, EVER.

(FYI, those of you who've never been to KT are missing the happiest place on Earth--at least, for MTBrs. Check out the "Ridemonkey Part II Photo Splurge" thread for some AWESOME shots of what KT has to offer.)

Let me know if you want more details...:happydance:

Why do these trips always happen when I'm busy?

As a side note, be careful of downed leaves. By that time of the year in that part of the country, just about all the leaves will have fallen. This makes the rocks, roots, undulations in the trail completely invisible. Also, leaves are slick as hell when wet.

MTB Chick:

Thanks for alerting me to the whereabouts of my poor EMS raincoat--Tequila's theory was that each Monkeyfest gathering I Are Baboon attempts to acquire new raingear from a different rider and sneak it across state lines back to CT.

Tell IAB he's going to have to offer a "proof of life" if he wants to earn his ransom payment! :greedy:

BTW, does anyone know why it says "Grasshopper" under my user name?

Ha, ha, never assume because a man has no eyes he cannot see. Close your eyes. What do you hear?
I hear the water, I hear the birds.
Do you hear your own heartbeat?
No.
Do you hear the grasshopper that is at your feet?
Old man, how is it that you hear these things?
How is it that you do not?

You gotta get yourself a cool custom title like the rest of us. Nice to see you here. It took you long enough.
I DO need to get a cool custom name. What about something like "Mudhunny Extraordinaire" or "She Who Falls Often"?

Sadly, it's taken me so long to get on the Monkey bandwagon in large part due to the fact that my work monitors my online computer usage and Ridemonkey is on its BLOCKED list! Arghhhh, the aggravation!

And like many folks out there I'm sure, once you spend 8+ hrs. a day in front of the computer often the last thing you want to do is turn it on once you get home.

Yet here I am, 11:44pm, typing away... :p
