I have camped their twice with the intentions of riding. First time foiled by sleet, the second by high winds with 50mph gusts.

And I'll add that the Flume Trail was pretty fun. And McCoy Flats, while somewhat boring, also had some decent trails. Stay the hell away from More Hoes out there, though. That trail was awful. Otherwise it would be awesome for a family sorta ride. I didn't ride the DH trail @6thElement linked to. I would not go to Vernal more than once every few years, but it's decent if you're going there. The first time I ride it, we were in Vernal for a desert race with the bug, and we saw there were some trails so we brought bikes and snuck a couple rides in. Definitely worth that.
