Saturday was epic ride day. This ride was about 35 miles of singletrack and 4 of fireroad. The bulk of the ride was around Waldo Lake which is one of the clearest and purest in the world. Simply an awesome ride, but it took almost 6 hours (we got lost a bit).

Today was one of the days when I'm sure we could see 100 in depth.

Awesome pics, where are these trails?
Waldo Lake is just outside of Bend, Oregon. We started the ride at Cultus Lake which is about 45 minutes from our house. There are literally a gazillion lakes around here, hard to keep them all straight. I DO know that there are huge friggin fish because I saw and heard them jumping!

I have heard some great things about bend, how are you liking it out there? I am going to Vegas in October and am considering a western road trip starting in Seattle and eventually making my way to sin city. A stop in Bend may be in order.

I wish I'd moved sooner. There are just so many ride options that it's hard to choose from. We did that mtb ride Sat and then Sunday we rode up to Mt. Bachelor on our road bikes. You could ride for weeks and weeks and still not hit all the trails. Plus, there is a ton of other stuff to do (hiking, rock climbing, river rafting, kayaking, fishing.....) endless opportunities. I'm not sure what it's like here in October, there is a Bend Fat Tire Tour that Cogwild does the last part of the month - 3 days of epic riding!!! It might be approaching colder weather, but you can definitely ride.

SWEEEEEEEEEEET! That looks so awesome! My wife and I want to come up to Oregon for a riding vacation. You need to post more pictures of just the day to day riding, I bet it would all be amazing!

lol- dude, that pretty much is the day to day riding. I mean, forests, lakes, rivers, mountain views.... I'll post some more eventually. Since I haven't been working, I've been riding on my own during the week so now action shots.

In that case...............WE NEED MORE PICTURES!!!!!!!!! The lakes up there are what get me. We have the big mountains covored in Pines, but not the lakes all over the place surrounded by pines/mountains. :thumb:

Come on - don't you like your lakes surrounded by houses, casinos, and fouled to no end by motor boats and jet skis?
Exactly. I can't even get out of my house to the woods without getting poked in the face with grandma's cigarettes on their way to the slots. Actually there aren't any woods anymore. Just prefab vinyl siding condos everywhere. Even at 6200 feet, there's no fresh air. We have to import it from oregon. We're running out of clear blue toilet cleaner to keep the lake blue too.

That waldo lake ride rules though. That's the best ride I've done around bend proper.
