The Neuse River covers a lot of ground, but there is quite a bit of great riding near Raleigh. What type of stuff are you looking for??

That site has directions to all the local sites, most are free, and the site also shows what trails are open and closed at any given moment.
Lake Crabtree and Beaverdam are probably the most popular as far as singletrack is concerned.
