N Trail, many secret spots. Just have to get with the right people. Try kidwoo, hacksaw and that crew.

Welcome to the area, try not to catch the clap.

Yes, there's tons, as soon as the snow melts. Leave UNR, get on I80 west, Northstar in 35 minutes, cheap season pass + great terrain. There's also many secret spots, those you'll find out about later.

Also, what kind of riding are you into? From the looks of your "quote", I take it you're a DH'er??

Well, if DH is what you really like, take my previous advice; leave UNR, I80 west, 35 min. to Northstar. There are some of the toughest DH courses in the country at that resort. Bring your Dainese!

As for the other secret spots, I think you're going to have to take Tattooo's advice, but you'll figure it out. Between the skate parks, shuttles, private dirt jump stashes... you probably won't be leaving the Reno/Tahoe area anytime soon.

Its a nice area, kinda being overrun by asshats from CA however. That's the reason a lot has gone to secret spots. Too many sue happy pube breathers...

Hacksaws three spots are by invite from the man himself only. Gotta respect the godfather, otherwise you might meet the back side of his shovel.

In all seriousness, unless you get invited, don't go asking for directions. Sandys is holy ground, and if it were to get well known it would go away.

For DH near UNR there is the N Trail, but when I rode it back after the floods, big chunks were gone, and there were several holes in the trail.

A really good way to get known and respected is to volunteer to put in some digging time. I never, ever rode Sandys, the N or several other spots without a shovel in my truck so I could fix what I destroyed.

Its a pretty tight knit community of riders, but once they let you in they are really good guys.

Tattooo is right, if you don't dig, you will never be welcome at Sandy's. We've been building that spot up for the past 4 years, and there is nothing more disliked than a self invited, non-shovel owner!

Severt, and any of us, will send you packing if caught there with out a special invitation and a shovel.

A few reasons why!

WTF are "hacksaw's" three spots?

I'll tie that motherfuker down and make him sing like julie andrews if he tries to keep a secret from me. He's carrying my syphilis.

How is the A Line coming?

Did the lower half of what I built before the flood ever get done?

Sir, I am unaware of any such activity or operation - nor would I be disposed to discuss such an operation if it did in fact exist, sir.

If you don't like the way that it is, then don't go to UNR.

The reality of Northern Nevada is that if you aren't part of a crew of people, then you don't get to ride certain spots. Consider it like the way Reno was when the Mob still ran things. There are mobs now, just of a slightly different breed.

Frankly as someone who as come and gone and come back again, if this thread is making you rethink things, then go to some other school. Besides, UNR is a joke.

That really couldn't be farther from the truth. Regardless of whatever elite sect you think you've been a part of, Reno and Tahoe have buttloads of fun places to ride.

.........regardless of who you know.

Besides you don't even live here anymore. We all turned socialist and hand out flowers and maps.

Did you get Jim to shave his head and do the Hari Krishna dance?

I want to come out for the dancing with the finger symbols.

The way that I read into that quote was that he wanted to come ride spots without the sweat equity of digging. Now even with my warped world view, I can't get behind that, hence why I found the mini cat to help out.

Besides, digging has made me a much better rider. Made me understand the dirt.
