Anybody? Buddy is planning on going and was wondering if it would be worth brining his bike. And if so, where to go and what to ride?

Trailforks seems to show a ton of trails. Trail pics look like high country AZ. Anywhere that has a F-ton of trails, elevation and forest is usually pretty high on my list of places to bring a bike.

Highly recommend bringing the bike.

Rapid City: In town 25+mi between cowboy hill (m hill) and skyline wilderness park.

Towards Mt Rushmore is Storm Mtn, west from rapid out hwy 44 takes you to Bone collector / rim rock trails.

Tim at Acme Bikes in Rapid is a solid resource.

Sturgis has a paved pump track that is fun and lots of work in the Alkali creek area and you can link into the Centennial trail (<90mi from Mt Rushmore to Sturgis).

Google the Dakota 50 for popular trails in the northern hills (Spearfish).

Many options from a few hours to epic goodness.

I got a friend posting riding pics and vids out of Rapid City right now. Looks legit.

I remember some good trails when I raced the Tatanka 100 that went from Rushmore to Sturgis. I also remember cow poop and it being furnace hot.
