Hey everyone,
I've moved to Lausanne for the next year to go to university here but I havent met any downhillers yet despite searching for a facebook group or something similar. I have heard there is some good riding over at Bex and Dorenaz, just wondering if there are any other nearby spots accessible by train? Can anyone give me any info on what the deal is with riding the 2 places mentioned above?
Cheers!

Bex uses a train to get you up. Loads of tracks there.
Dorenaz uses a cablecar system. Only a couple runs, but they're good.
Both are accessible in the winter also which makes them a good spot for us when there's snow everywhere else...
Best bet is to find someone who knows the areas and can show you.

You're living the dream.
Buckow might be able to point you in the right direction. Back when I was there, there were loads of people riding in each location every weekend.

Some shaky (but fun) cam from Dorenaz in 2011, lot better if you click HD:

www.bikeattitude.ch is a trainride away in Neuchatel

Villars is still one of the most awesome places I've ridden a bicycle (10 years ago now)

Portes du Soleil is a 2 hour train ride around the lake
