I know there's decent riding on the mountain, but i'm curious if there are any trail networks nearby that are worth riding. Have a potentially free condo to stay in, but I'd rather pay if I'm not getting good riding in....

You got plenty. Mad River Valley trails are pretty fun and technical. If you're willing to put the bike on the car, definitely go to Perry Hill in Waterbury. Further south you have trails in Rochester and Pittsfield.
