How'd ya find the Mikkeller?
I've been tempted to get one of those at the local cult beer bar, but put off by the loony tunes prices..... Mikkeller range runs from $16NZD to $175NZD, and Hashingo Zake is the only place that sells it round here.

It was good! Not what I expected. Holy crap is that a large bottle. Three of us drank it. It had a $30 USD price tag on it. My friend brought it over.

What I am drinking right now is better than whatever you are drinking right now. Look, don't get mad at me...that's just the reality of the situation.

In the past few weeks I have had lots of good beer; it's becoming a "hobby" of mine rather quickly. Here's a sampler of the highlights of my endeavors thus far (pics are not mine):

Three Floyds Dark Lord (2009):

Rogue Chocolate Stout:

Chimay Grande Réserve (Blue):

Chimay Première (Red):

Great Divide Yeti:

North Coast Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout:

Avery The Czar:

Stone Ruination IPA:

Leute Bokbier:

Allagash Tripel:

Harviestoun Ola Dubh Special Reserve 16:

Oskar Blues Gordon:

Delirium Tremens:

And there's still an astounding amount of beer I want to sample. It's kinda like Pokemon - gotta try 'em all!

That stuff is AWESOME.

If you think one of those'll get you drunk, there's always Ale Smith Speedway. 750ml at 12%.

Sweet, thanks for the recommendation. :D

Not that I'm currently drunk (definitely tipsy), but 2 Mephistopheles would definitely do it for me.

Speedway's one of my favorite RISs, and that's one of my favorite beer styles.

Other winners:

-Stone RIS
-Deschutes The Abyss
-Dogfish Head World Wide Stout (18% ABV!)
-North Coast Old Rasputin
-Victory Storm King
-Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout
-Flying Dog Gonzo (they call it an imperial porter, but it's a stout for all intents and purposes.)

I have tried the Stone RIS and that's it from the list - definitely gonna pursue the rest! The Dogfish Head sounds interesting, especially since I've really liked their other offerings.

The DFH is way hard to find, especially on the west coast, but is super awesome if you ever come across it. They don't brew it very often. They Abyss isn't the easiest thing to find either. The rest of 'em are pretty easy to get. The Rasputin is awesome value at ~$8 for a 4 pack.

I totally lied, I have had Old Rasputin (missed it the first read). DFH in general isn't the easiest but I do have access to some good stores that might have it...thanks again for the recommendations.

No problem. The WW Stout's particularly hard because it's not a year round brew.

Where'd you find Mephistopheles BTW? I used to be able to get it at BevMo, but the one near me seems to have stopped carrying it.

Whole Foods in SB - their selection is pretty damn good (arguably better than the local BevMo).

If you ever head north to Ojai, you have to stop at the Ojai Beverage Co. Their selection is awesome, they have an on-site bar where you can crack open anything in the store as well as sampling their rotating taps, and the owner George knows his stuff pretty damn well. That's the other place I have been that has a lot of beer you can't find elsewhere. [/plug for local liquor store]
