feasible or not feasible to take of cogs?
i only want to keep the 11,12,14 and 15 on new roadie but have heard to do so the wieght difference may not be any different seeing as how washers would be needed.

the 39 is on it's way out the door so as to only keep the 53.

You could take those cogs off and replace them with spacers (which is basically what happens with a single speed conversion).

Not sure what you gain, except for some gram savings.

yeah, it'd be the gram saving i'm after, that'd be the point; to take off dead weight.

and what would be a reasonable price for a 54 or 55 ring?

one other thing, the bike i just got came with 105 /gossimer cranks so i don't want a high dollar 54 or 55 but rather something on the same level as the 1o5, possibly the next step up. any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks.
