    i never realized that he did so much to try to help the people of nepal, if only more people who climbed everest were like that instead of just being "summit crazy."

    Although I never climbed peaks quite so high, Sir Edmund inspired me to take up and completely enjoy Mountaineering, Ice Climbing and RockClimbing

    Just spoke to the old man (he did a bit of climbing with Ed in the 50's) And we're going to donate 3k from the family trust to Ed's Himalayan Trust.
    We figured the best way to honor him would be to support his life's main work, helping the Sherpas. :)
