Hey,

Concerning riser handlebars, I am wondering if 2" is too high for all-around riding including jumps, drops, and XC (generally flatland). I can get a good deal on a 2" riser bar so if you guys could tell me what you think of riser bars and the various heights that would be great. It would be with about a 75mm stem.

no but really i think 2" is fine, i ride them for everything right now, on all my bikes...XC and Jump, if i was building a strictly FR DH bike i would go 2.5" hope that helps!

Its all personal preferance.

Im about to ditch my 27inch wide 2inch pro tapers for some 27inch wide 1inch rise EA70's. This is so i can lower the front of my DH bike and get more wieght over the front for better traction.

The rise on your bar doesn't matter; the final hand position you achieve does matter.

You could be running 2" rise bars and end up with a lower hand position than someone with flat bars, depending on your stem rise, spacer setup, and headtube length/frame size/fork length.

If you're running a lower-rise bar currently, and are thinking about switching to the 2" rise due to a good deal (not a bad way to think, mind you), maybe you could change your spacers or flip your stem over or just get a new stem to keep things relatively similar. If there's no option to lower it, you're going to have to be the one to tell US whether an additional inch or so of rise will make a difference for you. I wouldn't think it would change enough to make it terribly significant, but I myself *do* prefer a low setup if possible.

Saving $20 over the life of your bar might not be worth it if you don't like the ride.
