I'm in the process of installing a pair of risse crowns and I can't find the right size starnut for the headset. Nothing fits. Is the only option a headlock or is my LBS full of a bunch of idiots? I'd like to have an option to run a fender when the weather turns to crap, so is it possible to run a headlock and a fender? I've never used a headlock before...

risse makes their own headlocks, so i am willing to hazard a guess that they probably didn't pay attention to the steerer's ID when they speced it.

Woodman Headlock

Includes threaded hole for fender mount and is adjustable for different sized head tubes.

Edit: And yes the THE fender mount bolt fits.

Much better than Azonic. (I've tried both)

:thumb: I'm using jsut that on my DHR! Works great.

Chris...glad you got it! with an integrated setup like that, I would suggest using an headlock to preven what happened at BB - remember? :(

I've got a Woodman, and they're sweet. I just got it because it was cheaper than an Azonic, but I'm glad I did. It's so simple to use and it can fit a wide variety of headtube lengths. Go for it! I can also assure you that you can mount a fender to it with the bolt.

Go-ride or risse crown users... How low did you set your fork in the crowns? Now that I have the crowns I don't really need to run it all the way down do I? Does anyone have photos of their set ups?

Chris, for the Risse's just keep it 3-4mm above the min line and you'll be ok.
