I know that the purpose of the intercostal is to transfer shipping traffic (IF not familur check it out a wonder of modern tech. inland shipphing channel from fl to mx) NOT storm surges but I hope that it will absorb some of the storm surge. If not I seriously have many extended family members that will be flooded out, the number could be in the 100s. Along I-10 through L.A. the terrain is totally flat and sea/swampy flat. Honestly if youve never been along that corridor I hope one day you can experience it but now its fuxored.
