I just stumbled upon this photo while checking out the STFU website (I was considering for the Gambler, but demurred).
Yeti_Richie_Rude_900x.jpg

This had to have been news, but I missed it. Me and my friends have been too busy sunbathing off the southern coast of St. Bart's with spider monkeys for the past two weeks, tripping on acid, so can somebody catch me up?

DH bike from Yeti.
New suspension design from Yeti.
I feel like I came back to a new world. I heard Harris is the president, and running for re-election?

Bike looks awesome, with one exception.

God I hate that fork colour. Just nasty.

:shakefist:
The orange lowers were horrible too. And imo didn't go well with many frame colours either. But everyone just got used to it. *shrug*

Shouldn't really matter on a Yeti, people do this sort of shit to them and then wear an equally spiffy looking kit.

It's the 6bar / 6finity suspension they developed for their ebike.

Local Yeti Rep brought his in a while back for some set up. (Genuinely can't remember what).
Best thing evar apparently. Might be some bias in his "review"
Shimano motor made me LOL

How much would that thing cost?
This is 14000USD and it only has one pivot!

They put it together for Richie last year when he decided he wanted to race downhill. I saw it at World Cup in snowshoe last September. Nice bike but its still a Yeti....

DH bikes, so hot right now.
It ticks the boxes with high multi pivot suspension, straight tubes, and plastic.

I've owned a high single pivot (Deviate), and currently a high multi pivot (Canfield Jedi). The high multi pivot is sooo good under breaking, that was a major issue with the Deviate. For long travel and rough terrain they are hard to beat. I bet this bike will haul ass.

I wonder if Yeti is still planning a return to DH racing glory next year with a full bore factory WC team? Testing the waters this year with RR and some fast Jr's on the Devo squad.

'twould be pretty killer if they scooped up asa from frameworks in a year or two

hedging their bets given the rumors that enduro may shift to e-bike only, or go away completely

I was really hoping Gwin would end up with Yeti again somehow, like as team manager/owner, then bring Asa when he's elite and a few of the next crop of US Jr rippers on board. Maybe an Ostgaard sister or two....

Ahhhh, the Glory Days.

Speaking of Gwin, I kind of lost the hope of seeing him racing a world cup again. I got hopeful when he was participating in the training of the 1199 race at Whistler but then he looked kind of like a sad puppy when he was commenting with Warner and Jackson saying it was fun to ride with his friends...

His results at US nationals were promising. Was a short course and you never know how hard some people push for races like that but he beat Luca Shaw and Dakota Norton who are currently ranked #5 and #7.

That was the rumor, this year was just for development/testing.
Next year a full blown factory DH team.

Hopefully the dental professionals are buying enough turq to support it.... :D
I'd love a DH bike. For DH days. But not paying Yeti prices.

And I can drive to Yeti HQ from my house. But for how much I'd actually ride that bike? Nope. Lots of other, cheaper solutions out there.

I bought a pink Norco (no suspension) for my 9y/o girl. Pretty sure it was the last non-suspension pink kids bike on the planet. :)

Funny story NORCO is also used here, short for Northern Colorado.

There is a volleyball place that (that my kid attends) and goes by NORCO. You can imagine the confusion.

Anyways. I need a DH bike. Not a long travel endurbro. But full on DH. Just cuz northern colorado needs to represent! :)
