Socialists mainly share the belief that capitalism unfairly concentrates power and wealth among a small segment of society that controls capital and creates an unequal society.

All socialists advocate the creation of an egalitarian society, in which wealth and power are distributed more evenly, although there is considerable disagreement among socialists over how, and to what extent this could be achieved

You didn't spell anything incorrectly. Where did you copy that from?

so what exactly do socialists believe then?

:p
In a nutshell the most universal of all Socialist beliefs is that the economy should be run democratically (this is what is meant by a "dictatorship of the proletariat") by the people, thus effectively placing ownership of the means of production in the hands of the people.

For the millionth time.

I just had to turn off the BBC, far too much gum flapping. "Now Obama's daughter is yawning. Is she tired already?" Bugger me dead, if this is the standard the BBC is giving us then I pity you poor American swine with Fox/CNN etc.

Huge traffic fiasco this a.m. to get to the polls, but no wait once there and very easy to vote. I live in quite a small town, though. (town pop. < 14k)

As Valve Bouncer said above: Let the waiting begin and telestrator touchings and "we don't know anything yet" reported newsily over and over again and reddening anchors' faces and breathless speakings and "breaking news," and "alerts" and, well you get the idea...

veteran election watchers know exit polls are worse than useless...

esp since early polls show obama in the lead..

...however that will change once the rest of America gets off work.

She has about as much chance as a snowball in hell, even if she studies for 4 years straight.
