The world is a fucking mess and this is not gonna make it any better. Erdogan is one of the worst things that have happened to Turkey in a while, but this might have some serious consequences.

Sorry but the article and its conclusion is a total bull. The army has always been one of the secular checks and balances. What will follow is a total purge of opposition and the Kurds. Turkey is headed towards a sultanate, not a civil war.

When Turkey's military acts, it is usually decisive, and they tend to favor a secular society
Some speculation that it was a false flag operation designed to let Erdogan further clamp down on the secular society. The military coup was just too disorganized to be seen by some as credible.

I must have read or understood the article wrong as i read it earlier today at work because I thought the consensus was about the same minus the civil war part, which I think is not that far fetched...

Guess ill read it again later and pay more attention next time i post a link...
