is the dampning in the Ride more like the Race, or more like the Team? overall, what do you think of the Ride? i know the race is kidna a crappy fork...but its going on a vpfree-and i think the ride would be more versitile, but the team is a better dampner? no?

The ride internals are indentical to the race, only with U-Turn. The team has compression damping, the race doesn't. The team will feel a bit better and provide more adjustment. The race is a nice fork, despite what some say, and you get what you pay for.

so for all around/maybe some dh racing, but mostly jumping around/freeride stuff, the ride or the team?
Go for the team. Its a proven fork and the damping should be good enough. Something about u-turn on a DC just doesnt work for me but who knows it could be sweet. I say get the team itll do all of the above and itll be an overall better ride DH wise.

HC2 isn't that bad really? It's not the best over stutter bumps but it takes big hits well.
That's very characteristic of ported-damper forks like marzocchi JR Ts, Dropoffs and DJ forks. They take slow-speed impacts like drops and jumps just fine (even if you are going a billion mph, a drop is still a slow-speed impact), but suffer on sharper repetative hits like braking bumps or rock gardens. The boxxer uses damping similer to the Jr T, so it's no suprise.

ok, one more question: im going to building up this bike, and can get the Sherman Silder+ for about $150 cheaper...In all the pictures i see, the RS pros are running Motion Control Boxxers- Do you think i should get the slider+, and wait till the MC Boxxers come out?
Or should i spend the extra money now, get the boxxer team, and sell that when the MC Boxxers come out if they are in my price range?
