I just picked up an Iron Horse SGS dh, the one with the boxxer race. after three rides, acording to the zip tie, I am only getting 6" of travel. In the manual it says to see thier website for more info. I cannot find any thing usefull on the site. Can someone here give/find me some decent directions to convert it over to 7". I am a capable bicycle mechanic and should be able to git-r-dun. I want to avoid sending the fork in to get more travel. thanks

the zip tie is measuring the amount of travel you are using not how much travel you have on the fork. if it comes with 7" you have 7" of travel untill you bottom out. unless it comes with 6" and in that case i cant help you there.

bigshred, it is entirely possible that Rock Shox shipped the fork in the 6" setting to the factory. This has happened before. It should be an easy change for your local shop. Like others have said, check the actual travel you are getting first.

But you didn't

He's measured the travel to be 6" with a zip tie and needs to know how to convert his fork to 7".

Bigshred, it's in plain english on the manual @ rockshox.com how to convert the travel. Seems to be a simple swap of the spacer.

Why can't you install Acrobat Reader? By the quick glance at the pic, I think all you need to to is change the location of the spacer at the top of the spring stack.

It's really easy to check, just unscrew the top caps and see if the spacers are on top of the springs. If they're not, the fork is set at 6 inches. All you have to do is remove the Damper and the Neutral shaft, remove the spacers and put them directly under the top caps.
