Im not to savvy when it comes to fixing parts like forks id usually just bin them and get new ones but in this case I need some help.

Basically I have 3 pairs of older boxxers 1999, 2002 and 2003 that Im wanting to put on a few retro rides, problem im having is the people that sold them did not mention that 2 or 3 of the 4 dropout allen screws/bolts were rounded off.

Ive heard about heli-coil is that my best bet or is it possible to get the next size up and use a tap to put a new thread down in there ?

Any help/tips/photos/videos would be greatly appreciated.

cheers

I retapped the 4 pinch bolt holes deeper and use longer bolts on my 01 cherry red boxxer.

For a rounded off head, I'd try an e-z out. If threads are bad I'd try idea above, then if that doesn't work, helicoil, so you don't have to have custom heads on an up-sized bolt.
