Yeah, I know, no such thing as stupid questions, only stupid people. Anyway, the year-old NRS I bought in February came with no shock manual (RS SID XC). No problem, downloaded it, and I think I understand how to make adjustments.
However, the air pressures are beyond what your standard tire guage can measure. Might be able to rig up an engine compression tester and at least be able to measure the existing pressures. But then there's the problem of actually pressurizing the shock if I want to make a change. My air compressor can put out around 100 psi. The manual says the starting point is psi equal to your weight. No way I can get 165 psi from my compressor.
