I was about to send in the Super Deluxe to have it serviced as it was way overdue, but I decided to look around Rockshox site first. I found their service guide and to my surprise, it was for the 50 hour and 200 our service! Complete step by step instructions were given. I went through all of them and saw no real special tools were needed. Long story short, I did the 200 hour service and I am glad I did. Pretty straight forward and saved some money and 2-4 weeks of turn around time.
Made me think of when I first got into mountain biking in college and the Fox 40 I had and DHX 5.0 were all pretty serviceable. I hope more shocks/forks get to be more user serviceable.
