Rockshox Vivid Coil Question

I just bought a used 2010 Santa Cruz Bullit. It has a Rockshox Vivid with a 500 X 2.75 coil on it right now, but that is way too stiff for me (I think I need a 400, I am about 180lbs). Will a 400 X 3.0 fit the frame without any consequences? I guess what I am concerned about is the the stroke length, will the added 0.25 affect the frame or the shock itself?

No, it won't affect performance. Like the previous poster said, as long as it physically fits, you're fine.

As long as the coil is the proper Diameter it should work as long as you can get it on, but it will most likely be pretty tight. Just remember it needs a 38mm inner diameter so Springs that fit Fox, Manitou, Elka, etc wont fit.

you will need a Vivid spring. They're HEAVY & a bigger diameter. I run Xcountry/ d.hill & use a 550# 2.5-2.75 on mine. It's actually a 2.75 shock. I am 182 w/ gear included.
